Respectfully, I would disagree with wwtsang (and many other opinions against booking domestick F to USA for 40K).
With 2 assumptions:
1. you are not *A elite
2. there is no non-stop flight available (example if your routing was YYZ-LAX)
Let's assume the OP is flying YUL-ORD-LAS and has the option of Y for 25K or 40K. Benefits of 40K F class that would not come with Y for 25K
1. RCC lounge access at ORD
2. No checked baggage fees
3. LAS departure security priority access due to F class seat
4. Of course bigger seat, free meal and booze
