Heck, I just might continue to save up Starwood points for that trip to Paris that my wife wants to go on. I'm just wondering if it makes sense to spend the Starpoints this one time for a free plane flight. My gut is telling me that it's not making much sense to do so - with the value of the Starpoints that I would need to transfer, as well as the devaluation of the Southwest points.
It doesn't seem like a good value of points to me at all. For 20K starpoints, you get an entire free domestic ticket on the airlines that give you 25K for 20. Also, if you are thinking of travel to an expensive hotel destination such as Paris, it is a great use of your points.
