What difference does it make if the cabbie knows your house number and street?
Like I said...when you've gone into a bar, they look at your license, thats NO big deal.
But if the door man wanted to write down your personal information (or even just your name) wouldnt you feel uncomfortable.

Im responding to EVERY post. Theres no multiquote function here, so Im manually doing it.
This is how I used to do it back in the usenet days.
you could have gotten out and hopped into another taxi at the airport.
We were already on the highway in Flushing at this point.
Your analogy with the bar makes no sense. The bar isn't in the business of driving you anywhere.
The analogy is not about DRIVING.
Its about looking at your info (showing your license/cabbie stopping in front of your house) vs WRITING down your info (making a copy/entering it into a GPS)

Can you even enter a cross street in a GPS?
Thats the WHOLE issue here, he wanted my address for his GPS.
The issue isnt "The driver did not know how to get to my house"
Is there really a big difference between saying:
"Northern and Bell" and "Northern Blvd east exit of the cross island" ?
I told him Exit 29 off the LIE.
I have NEVER had an issue with that "destination"
Sometimes in the cab, I saw "Do you know Douglaston? Thats Queens, and I live in the town BEFORE it"
This guy didnt know Douglaston, so I dont think he could have found my street on his own.
