I thought that the leg room on my e145 flight (also 50 seat) was worth it. Never been in row 1 of that one bit it looked cramped. For the CR2, I feel like the exit row leg room wasn't that much better.
Also, remember that DL blocks off the bulkhead, so "taken" may not really be "taken".
