I am having no luck in redeeming free companion ticket along with mileage redemption flying out of Seattle-where we live. I like that BA flies nonstop to LHR from here which is why we got a BA Visa to accrue mileage. But even 8 mo in advance of our trip, I could not get any reward seats out of Seattle. I can get us seats out of Chicago, NYC, Wash DC, but that defeats the purpose of the nonstop, shortest possible traveltime to say nothing of adding cost.

Can anyone tell me why -year after year- it is so hard to get reward seats out of Seattle?
