Looks like a decent hotel, too!

If you want to save more still, and don't mind a rather quirky hotel further out of town, there's always the QBic at Station Zuid. The rooms are basically big white cubes installed inside a series of rooms in an office block. The only really weird part is the shower, which is in an open steel-floored 'wet room' part of the cube.

Anyway, I enjoyed it, and the location (a metro or tram ride from the centre) is good for trains out of town. Plus, I was happy to leave my bike there, which I wouldn't be in town. (To me, the Netherlands - and Amsterdam in particular - is all about cycling...)
