Round Trip or One Way?
I'm trying to book a couple of one-way flights to Argentina. I was waiting to buy the tickets until I got paid and now the prices have skyrocketed. They were about $650 at the beginning of the month and now they're over $1000. I've been searching on all the ticket sites, but can't find anything near those previous prices anymore.
I will be coming back to the US at some point, but I'm not sure when. Maybe June 2012 or even later. It's actually fairly flexible and we may be coming back as early as August of this year.
The round trip tickets are going for about $1300 right now. Should I book the round trip tickets, then reschedule the flight later? Would the extra fees be worth it to do this? I think it's around $250 to do this for an international flight. The return flight would be good for up to a year, right? Is that a year from the ticketing time, departure date, or the return date? How far in advance can I book the return flight?
Oh yeah, I was originally going to fly on a LAN Argentina flight, but now AA is slightly cheaper. If I buy the tickets as LAN, how does that affect things?
Are there any other options out there? Like should I wait a bit longer to see if the fares drop again? We don't have to fly until late May or June and the departure date is very flexible.
Any advice is appreciated. :-)
