A true FTer would have extended their RTW to include an Apple Store in Australia.

The 16Gb iPhone 4 is A$859 (approx S$1080), and don't forget the tourist refund at the airport of the 10% GST - so it will cost you A$859 - A$78 = A$781 = US$781 at the moment.
