Reminds me of a certain Boston-based design & construction firm I worked for. The founder (who had sold the business) made it the policy that his Amex was used for all travel reservations - airline and hotel, and that his Amex must be used for payment of the airfare. Hotels were paid by traveller, but I'm sure he got enough bonus miles and points that he doesn't pay for vacations anymore.
It was a company of 500+ and maybe 20% of those were road warriors. I did over 250,000 miles and at least 60 hotel stays in just about a year there.
