I understand the phone rule, because of the FCC explained above, and because of the shared-space issue.

What really annoys me is that they have extended this rule to "any electronics", and there's no sense in it. An FA will make shut off my e-reader during take-off, because it's an "electronic device". Well, the watches in everybody's wrists (including the FA) are "electronic devices" too, but that's not an issue?
