If that's the case, then there is no downside. Nevertheless, I remember a post on FT a few months ago where someone was complaining about
all his/her earnings, meetings and personal stays alike, being converted to the 1 point per $3 spent ratio after becoming a Preferred Planner. Perhaps, it was some kind of glitch.
