Virgin Blue Luggage security at Melbourne/Adelaide
Having travelled to from London to Australia via a stopover in Europe and having no bag problems I never thought a simple Virgin Blue flight from Adelaide to Tasmania would cause problems.
Unfortunately, my bag arrived at Launceston airport with damage to the lock and internal tool marks where it looked as if someone had tried to force it open with a screwdriver.
I had a three hour stopover in Melbourne on the way and sitting in the Virgin Blue lounge watching the domestics area, all you could see were bags sitting around in the open on the tarmac and on trolleys.
Some were out in 40 degree sun for over two hours.
Do airlines not have to put your bag somewhere secure between connections?
