Sending agents to conduct "secondary screening" is nothing more than a make-work effort to keep the TSA's ranks swelled and the budget money flowing. Anyone who has actually been searched by these clowns knows that they couldn't find a bobbypin in a ladies purse with the cursory glances they direct to your bags. Last time I got gate searched, they didn't even bother to open my roll aboard suitcase, just pawed in a few pockets of my backpack. If they can waste 2 hours waiting for a delayed flight, that's fewer angry stares and snide comments they have to endure for playing theri part in Security Theater! I always ask "did they miss something up front" when I am asked for a secondary search.
