This one might be user error. From Google's 29-Jan

The MUAA006 code appears in my Email confirmation as "Coupon Number" in the "RATE & BENEFIT INFORMATION" section.
Could be. But, really nice of them. They put the K024743 code in for me but they leave out the MUAA006 code on purpose, expecting me to fill it in? Then, if I fail to do that, they say "oh, sorry, you didn't put in the coupon code, so only 1x credits for you." That is dirty. That borders on bait-and-switch.
I got another e-mail back from Avis, still of the position -- no coupon code, no bonus points. Called Southwest again, their liaison is looking into it. They are so backed up, it could take 3 weeks. Yeah, I'll bet they are backed up, if they are doing this to everyone and then everyone is calling in to complain. Cost of dealing with the problem is far greater than just giving the 5x credits if you ask me.
I'll keep working this problem. But, everyone else reading here, be advised that although the Kxxxxx number will fill in automatically, you've got to check the fine print for the Mxxxxx number.
Personally, I don't think this is the right way to do business. You are telling me that it is worth it to Avis to save the cost of two credits, yet be able to advertise 5x credits? That the short term financial gain outweighs the long term negative view of the company? That this is good for Southwest, who would like to rent cars off their web site?
Its not creating a situation for me where I will want to rent this way. This is just dirty pool.
