Air Canada's A320 aircraft are all the from the -100 series. The primary difference is the engine variant. It's essentially the same engine for both but there with are minor design differences that improve efficiency/power on the newer engines. There are a few avionics differences as well I believe.
This completely contradicts information I posted early in the thread. Can you please provide some supporting evidence (links), if you have any? It's too easy for these threads to bog down in opinion, so please don't hesitate to correct everyone if you have some knowledge that we don't of course.
