Air Canada's A320 aircraft are all the from the -100 series. The primary difference is the engine variant. It's essentially the same engine for both but there with are minor design differences that improve efficiency/power on the newer engines. There are a few avionics differences as well I believe.
The A320s are not the -100 version. The A319 are -100 (that's the only version available) and the A321s are -200.
The A320-100 does not have wing tip fences and have reduced fuel capacity.
