I was talking to a friend about qualifying for elite membership. He's nothing right now. His question is if he say flies 25K EQM in Jan 2012, does his Gold status last until Feb 28, 2013 or Feb 28, 2014?

Or would he not receive Gold status until Mar 1, 2012?

His confusion is it states "rest of current membership year and all of next membership year." Since Jan-Feb is still technically part of the old membership year, the wording is kinda ambiguous.
