I have the AMEX Hilton and Starwood cards and the Starwood is the only credit card (Visa/MC included) for which I pay an annual fee. I think the $30/yr. is definitely worth it because Starpoints can be transferred to several airline programs and the best value guarantee benefit more than makes up for the fee.
