Just did CA XIY-PEK then to CO PEK-EWR separate tkts and they wouldn't take us at the domestic Terminal 3 transfer desk. We had to exit, go up the escalator to Level 4 and check-in as if we came from the outside.

It took 40 minutes from plane docking to getting through security at Terminal 3E, and that was with zero people at the CO desk - we had only 1 hr 40m after our flight from XIY was delayed 90 minutes due to Beijing weather.
