For the benefit of the OP, Gate A10 means you are bussed to wherever your aircraft has been abandoned in the distant corners of LHR ... at which point you then walk up aircraft steps like in the good old days before air-bridges.

This un-happy event can materialise on almost any route.

B-Gate departures via an air-bridge are broadly equivalent to a small win on the National Lottery or Premium Bonds.
