Your 1200cc Nissan suggests you're not an American driving a U.S.-spec Nissan, as we regard 1200cc engines as appropriate for (smallish) motorcycles or ride-on lawnmowers.

Lots of vehicles in the U.S. are sold with speed governors (rentals or not) that prevent vehicles from attaining an aerodynamics-limited top speed. Some times that limit can be pretty high; for some light trucks and SUVs it can be lower than 160 kph. Given that posted speed limits are no higher than 80 mph (~130 kph) on any public road in the U.S., that seems sufficient.
