Never figured there would arise a need to take the express train, but that's exactly what happened today.

For the two of us it was slightly more expensive than a taxi door to door (270B not including tolls), but coming from Yaowarat there isn't alot of choice (and the ferries were packed today eliminating ferry->BTS). So, tuk tuk to Hua Lam Pong MRT (40B), MRT to Petchaburi (29B/pax), exit 3, follow the red sign and walk walk walk to the station entrance. Purchase the express train ticket (150/pax) and check in with PG and drop the bag.

The last part is the reason we tried the train. Our flight is at 8PM and PG doesn't let me check in early (unlike TG) so we figured spending a bit more on the train was the payoff to getting the bag out of our hands. Upon entering the check in area our bags were xrayed and then, meticulously, 'baggage checked' stickers were placed on each and every zipper in order to "deter anybody from getting inside". Does this mean they don't have secure transport? And I'm curious how the bags are transported. There doesn't seem to be a secure area on the train for these checked bags... so, do they even travel on the train?

Hopefully we get the bag in PNH tonight.
