Well, I opted to take the tour since they were offering 7500 SPG points. The presentation was pleasant. They provided a wealth of information. When you ask about terms, the closer comes in on queue and then two guys are working on you. But it was not that bad. My feeling is that Starwood Corporate has these guys on a very tight leash so they do not resort to high pressure sales tactics.
Starwood is building a timeshare resort nearby, only 280 rooms. Weeks run from 17 to 77 thousand. The weekly yearly maintenance will run from 1100 to 1400 per week. Almost enough to book any of the SPG properties on Maui with a deal.
It appears that it will be a great property, but it’s just was not my cup of tea. Others will probably like it just fine and will invest in the deal.
