Staying in Paris is more advisable IMO than out at the airport or in Versailles. Especially if your flight is at 2 PM. If your flight is at 10 AM you still have enough time to get out to the airport, either by taxi or by RER. The taxi would cost around 50 LE, the RER train around 10 euro per person. If you want to take the RER, try to stay close to RER line B. Around the Saint-Michel and Luxembourg stations it is very nice, that's the area I would suggest.
Sorry, I don't know hotels in Versailles if you prefer to stay there.
