Useful Swag, forgotten travel items, hotel loyalty

I'm working with an independent boutique hotel to identify some beneficial items that create value for their guests or future guests. What better place to learn more about what works for travelers than a FlyerTalk forum... Your input is appreciated.

Have you ever received a really useful logo'd item from which you've gotten a lot of use, thus creating brand recognition for the company who gave it to you? What was it?

Is there a particular item you always forget when you travel or wish a certain item was available in your hotel room? What was it?

Is there an item that if in your hotel room would create more of a "feel's like home" environment?

Did you ever receive a "gift" from a hotel that you found very useful and created an extra sense of loyalty? What was it?

Finally, have you ever purchased a logo'd item through a hotel (whether it was featured in the room, at a gift shop, or online)? If so what was it and how much did it cost? Did you get it out of necessity (i.e., you needed an extra X and it was there) or because it was unique, cool, or something to remember your visit?

Thanks!
