The St. Regis has a better location IMO.
I recommend 4 days in Beijing (though you could certainly find something to do for the 5th day)
1) Ming Tombs/Great Wall
2) Forbidden City/Temple of Heaven/Tiananmen/Beihai Park
3) Summer Palace/Lama Temple
4) A much useful day to wander around the old city
