We, couple with a toddler, will be in the west Normandy for a week (part of our journey in August) and depart at CDG airport to return home. We have to decide where in route toward CDG airport to stay one night and would like inputs for this.

We have been to Paris twice but we would like to have more time at Versailles and wondering whether public transportation, taxi, shuttle, or private transfer would be reasonable in terms of time and cost - any cost idea would be helpful to budget the trip. Google direction has 45 minutes but probably not counting traffic and other factors.

The return flight would possible be on Thursday or Sunday and at 10A or 2P. If staying in Versailles does not make sense, where should we stay for an easy access (direct train) to both CDG airport and Paris?
