This seems really ridiculous. What kind of ground transportation did you have? Flights get delayed and changed all the time I have never heard of someone being charged $200 for this. What would have happened if you just showed up in Jamaica late?
I can't see AirTran being responsible for anything I agree that they were seemingly doing you a favor in booking you on the direct flight instead of leaving you stuck in MCO for possibly a later flight.
Would you have rather been stuck in MCO until possibly the next day?
