For us at least, the rows directly before and after the exit rows are problematic as we are not permitted to have car seats in these rows. That is likely what caused the seat change request.

This does not, however, mitigate the fact that the CSA didn't advise you of the actual seat assignment was NOT an exit row, but I can see that it was a car seat in the exit rows area that caused the problem.
