Will this work of AA award?
Does anyone know if

OGG-HNL-LAX-JFK would be the same amount of miles as OGG-DFw-JFK

I see award seats on the HNL-LAX-JFK part of the route and no seats on OGG-DFW-JFK part of the route.

I guess my question is, will AA charge me more miles if I book it through HNL. The layover is less than 4 hours in HNL, I am not trying to make a stop-over it just allows me to get to JFK on miles this way. Anyone experienced this? Will AA charge me 5,000 extra miles for coach and 10,000 miles for business/first if I fly through HNL?
