My thoughts:

Only one flight a day to GRU so they will hold it, within limits, for connecting passengers. Disruption from many airports on EK's network could therefore cause delays on the flight from DXB-GRU.

There will be slack in the turnaround time which can be used to catch some of this back so the figures ex GRU are not so bad.
