On the other hand
How about we work as a team to setup a SkyAward Bank where anyone can put their miles into a Bank like Bank of America and use the miles for Day Passes to Lounges, Flight upgrades on any airlines, Flights, hotels etc. The miles would never devalue and you would not need a credit card. There could be an option of a Debit Card to use it like cash.
The miles would never devalue as long as you keep adding increments of 500 mules every 18 months. The SkyAward Bank could setup an automatic transfer to the SkyBank from your accounts so as soon as a flight is taken those miles go right to the SkyAward bank. Points.com has only a few options but SkyAward can be used from simple purchases like Gas to a Cruise. With your DebitCard it will deduct points as if it were dollars.
Gift Cards would be a thing of the past and family members could have one SkyAward Account and anyone with the passcode or Pin could redeem miles for anything. If you buy a large item using your credit card the points would go to SkyAwards.
Flyertalk Members would be on the Board. There would be insurance on the miles and with no blackout dates you can book a last minute trip to anywhere so as long as you have enough points. The bookings can be done online using the same website and you can select SkyAwards as the form of payment from the list of cards. As long as you remember one number you won't need to remember your Delta Sky Miles number, American Advantage number etc as its all under one number. As soon as you enter your Frequent Flier number SkyAwards will transfer the points within 2 business days.
Why loose miles with Points.com transfers with SkyAwards its mile for mile. With an annual fee to be determined this covers everything. You can even use SkyAwards to order Inflight Entertainment on Delta.
