Thumbs up More Flight Attendant Recalls

The APFA LGA Base Chair send an email advising that recall notices will be sent to 150 furloughed flight attendants on February 14, 2011, and approximately another 220 notices will go out in March or April.

The on line date for both groups is June 1.

The flight attendants included in this staggered round of call back have original TWA seniority dates ranging from 1978 to 1985. None of them have been previously recalled. They have been furloughed for at least eight years.

I have a hunch that the staggered notification dates are due to the company trying to assess the acceptance rate of those who have never previously been recalled. Based on the responses from the first group it will be determined how many notices will be sent in the second batch. The previous offers of reemployment had acceptance rates in the high 90%; however, those were flight attendants who were previously called back in 2007 and 2008 and re-furloughed in 2009.
