Royal Orchid is cheaper and is not bad. Its on the Chao Praya river and is around alot of touristy shops.

Sheraton Grande is on Sukhumvit and is even more happening. Its close to the Ministry of Sound and various shopping centers like Siam Discovery. It is a luxury collection hotel.
