I concur (reference being to Jet flights ), despite the other posts.

However, since it is not used in American English, this is why some of us are "stunned" when hearing such terminology!

However, Wikipedia notes that there is such a word in Latin, which would then suffice for me that therefore a word in British English might have been arrived at later: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/prepone
