I vote for LGB. Rental cars across the street from terminal. I rent cars from there alot & much easier than LAX. No shuttles at LGB. LAX congested and requires shuttle to get rental car.

Also, the 405 freeway is congested going South from LAX (I commute from LAX area to LGB area in the afternoons) but much easier going North from LGB to Torrance.
