OK everybody!
Update from the ICN F lounge.
(Spoiler: was sitting in F)
Checked in Kowloon station. Agent there was helpful but said that all the seats in F were reserved, and after some obstacles in her English, I understood that they would give us (my dad & I) new boarding passes at the gate if possible.
We checked in at 4:00 pm for the 12:30 am flight as we were both exhausted and wanted to rest in the lounges. BTW, we were given a KA lounge invite.
Took the train, then had problems with the fact that the airline needs to approve if you want to have >1 piece of carry-on. After some convincing, we were waived through.
After reading the lounge locations, we took the train to gate 60 for the UA/TG lounges. The UA lounge was the best RCC I've ever seen. Comfortable, and at one point we were the only pax. One complaint that applies to the UA/TG/KA lounges is that they're open-air and so the noise from the gates is rather annoying (listening 10 times to "We hope you enjoy the EK A380 experience" at every boarding call). Showers in the RCC stank of the sewer...
Then TG lounge - rather plain and uncomfortable, spent 5 minutes there.
Walked to the G16 (not G19) lounge and was very unimpressed, to say the least... The SQ lounge was closing at 10:10 pm so I only got a quick chance to glimpse it.
Hope that's rather conclusive as far ad the lounges. As a side note, I entered every lounge with my *G card, I don't know if it's necessary.
Fell asleep in the KA lounge while we were the only 2 pax in it. Woke up at 11:55 and so we went for boarding, gate 22. At boarding when we gave our boarding passes, we were given new seats, 4K & 3K. Success! (We are flying on ICN-FRA in F, dunno how much that helped).
Service was in between J & F. Very nice and had a good rest. BTW, the OZ F seats are slightly slanted, but they bother me less than the LX F seats, which have some annoying metal bar that gets in the way. Anyways, going downtown to Seoul in a few moments (once the sun starts rising , once again we were the only 2 pax in the J lounge for a while, F lounge opens 6:15 am).
Anybody gonna be at the airport today? I'd be glad to guest into the F lounge or meet up!
