Would be even further than LGB (Torrance is about halfway between LAX and LGB) and would involve sitting in traffic ad infinitum on the 405.

I'm throwing my 2 cents in for LGB as well...even though it means a CRJ versus a mainline jet, you won't have the hassle of LAX to deal with.
