hi guys iam just returned from a 6 week vacation throughout brasil and i MUST say - Florionopolis is my #1 spot in brasil even in terms of gay life
florionopolis is very safe and qualm and has phantastic spots around to explore
the shoreline around sofitel is interesting with lots of restaurants and nightlife, saune is minutes away but didnt attract me that much

north of florionopolis close to a weekend and holiday vacation spot called balnaeriu de comboriu you find praia do pinho which is secluded nude beach. perfect for sunbathing and meeting locals :-) who look for places like that
down the road you can stay at estalleiro village in one of the few pousadas for example

the closest and most beautiful area out of florio are the beaches and the lagune
lagoa da concesao is the perfect village to stay in because of its vibrant and young scene and lots of restaurants and bars
keep in mind you will hardly find any so called GAYbar in brasil, most of the bars who are connected to the gay scene call themself gayfriendly
cafe de columbia is one of the places where likeminded guys flirt around

you will find any kind of watersport there, sanboarding kitesurfing horseriding and so on... the beaches are for every taste and can easy be reached by public bus - the spot for guys is praia mole left hand side in front of the Decca beachbar, when you continue the small trail you reach praia galheta the nude section of the coastline with an unspoiled beach like you have ever dreamed about stay in the middle section and use your gaydar :-)

now there is even a kiosk where you can buy drinks and rent umbrella and beachchairs

praia do campeche is another perfect beach, a bit more rough and on weekends occupied by lots of families from florio - next to the beach there is a gayfriendly pousada "nature campeche" nice staff and poolarea as well - when you want to have a delicious seefood dinner take the bus to riberau d'lha and spent some bucks at the ostradamus restaurant, right on the waters edge with a perfect setting. the area is well known for its oysterfarms and so you can dine in heaven if you are into it
