Seems like AA is not the only one having a tough time selling HND flights. Air Canada recently dropped it's planned YVR-HND route.

Would there be any recourse if AA decides to take this route from Air Canada by flying say, LAX-YVR-HND?

1. Does USDOT and Japanese MOT restrictions apply for US-Canada-HND flight by a US based airline?

2. Can AA make this flight work better by having an early AM arrival/late PM departure to HND as a total opposite of the late PM arrival/early AM departure of JFK-HND?
