This might have been discussed before but I was unable to find a thread on it. I am looking to purchase a TPAC flight on UA using my AMEX membership reward points @ 10 points for $1 to partially offset the cost. However, as one can guess, this booking can be done only through AMEX Travel Services. My question is, would such a purchase be considered "opaque" by UA and be disqualified from earning EQMs? Another concern is that I see no fare bucket anywhere, but I would like to purchase a ticket that I can upgrade with SWUs. Any thoughts?
