You mention airports in NY and Washington. It is important that you know in advance which one(s) you'll be going through so that you can determine which gates/lanes have scanners or metal detectors. NYC could be JFK, LGA or EWR and Washington could be IAD, DCA or BWI. Once you know which ones you'll be in, you can use the list in the top sticky to plan your checkpoint strategy.

As for things that could trigger a frisking when using the NoS, other prior threads have mentioned skirts/dresses, body piercings, prosthetics/shaping pads and sanitary napkins.

Putting things in perspective though, it's worth noting that any given trip through security will likely be uneventful. Many of the times I've been in line and watched those ahead of me, no one was frisked and most passengers probably didn't really notice much difference from before other than the machine. This is what has enabled TSA to get away with this travesty.

The odds catch up to frequent flyers who find out the true nature of the program through repeated exposure, which explains why these experiences seem so prevalent in this forum.

You may not have enough segments in your itinerary to make a bad experience likely. Best of luck on your trip,
