Why? I had a similar expierence, in that it took an additional day for the systems to talk to each other and confirm a booking.
I was instantly assigned a PNR, and receipt, but the ticket was not issued for a day or two.
While I sympathize, with getting a ding on your CC for the tickets.... Its the price we pay to be able to fly around the world seamlessly. If UA & NH didn't have that relationship the expierence would be very cumbersome to ticket (seprately) and on the day of travel (no interlining, no protection for seprate tickets).

Complex IT systems tend to produce errors now and then. Annoying? Sure!
But please stop the drama quality you are so desperately trying to attach to this matter.
Millions and millions of online bookings per year work without any problem, so your general "WARNING" is way over the top.
