There is no security rationale behind the full body scans. They're pure theatre.

Calling what the TSA does a "pat-down" is disingenuous - it's much closer to a "custody frisk" or "intake frisk" than a "pat-down."

Not only can it happen when no weapons are carried, it can happen at the pure whim of whatever undereducated and undertrained blue-shirted thug happens to be working that day.

The only certain way to avoid it is to simply not fly - today - and tomorrow that might include "not fly, not take the train, and not take the bus," depending on whether or not the thugs can be stopped.
