Regarding the Fairmont President's Club, I'm a Gold member. They had some type of target promotion for Amex cardholders to receive Gold status. I'm not sure if that's still going on. If you have an Amex card, you can always call to see if it still works. I assume they would be competitive with other hotel loyalty programs and comp your status. Good luck!
