As a weekly flyer on the Nerd Bird, I am much much more annoyed by the passengers than the FA's. Not that I am not sick of the "we can't close the doors" until the "gadgets and gizmos" are turned off. But the most annoying thing i see constantly is the completely entitled behavior of a large number of Elites. Just because you are elite does not mean the rules don't apply to you.
It constantly amazes me that people, especially those in the first 1/3rd of the plane have to be reminded more than once that we are waiting on their dumb a$$ to turn their sh*t off!
Then there are the a$$hats that insist on fireing up their iPads the second the wheels leave the ground, never mind waiting for 10K feet. I see this behavior almost exclusively from Elites. the average traveller is much more inclined to follow the rules, Elites, not so much (of course I am generalizing here). And don't get me started on all the seat belts that come off 100 yards from the jetway. I wish the pilots would randomly SLAM on the brakes and throw those idiots to the floor.
I have Elite status, but I don't consider myself elite and behave accordingly with consideration and respect for the rules no matter how stupid I think they are. Grace, manners and respect seem to be dead (oh god, i just sounded like my granddad there)...it's a shame.
