As a new international flyer I am amazed by the wealth and scope of information I picked up via this forum! Thanks all.

Recently returned from trip to HK.
Ended up booking AA codeshare flight on CX
The entertainment was great, service was very good sliding seat was uncomfortable, but 16 to 17 hr in coach, what are you going to do.

HOWEVER,
AA advertised as a code share but when I went to check in online I found that reservation systen wasn't the same AND I couldn't request a seat until I personally checked in at the airport!
That meant even though I booked the flight 3 weeks in advance I couldn't request a seat.
I will never fly AA again, should have booked directly with CX.
After I wrote AA about this issue all they could do was reply "can't do anything about it".

Stay away from AA on code shares!
