I need advice. Here is the situation....
I booked two I class tickets from YWG-DME (open jaw) LED-YWG for a Russian cruise.
The inbound was ticketed LED-MUC-CLT-YYZ-YWG. The original itinerary had a three hour connection in CLT from LH to AC....ample time to clear USA customs and immigration and make our merry way from concourse D to concourse A in CLT.
Now the dreaded schedule change occurs. (Note to forum members: check your itineraries....it is the schedule change season

)
The connection time shrinks from three hours to one and a half. Given the unknowns of clearing USA immigration ( I don't have Nexus)and clearing security from one concourse to another, there is now a problem. There is only one AC flight to YYZ that day and I miss this flight I am up the creek without the proverbial paddle. This is still a legal connection but it is an unrealistic one. The chance of missing the connection are good and having to overnight in CLT is not a preferable option.
Before I make the call to Aeroplan, I thought that I would problem solve out loud on the forum.
I am wondering if I can plead my case and have the ticket amended direct MUC-YYZ to connect to YWG. A long shot..... but worth trying...
I can also try to have the inbound completely reticketed to ensure a better itinerary....
Any suggestions before I call Aeroplan?
Question: Who is responsible for rebooking in the event of a missed connection?
LED-MUC on LH; MUC-CLT on LH ; CLT-YYZ on AC; YYZ-YWG on AC
Any help/suggestions are much appreciated.
