If not, I'm not sure the connection time is comfortably enough to collect bag and recheck it. I have another option, which is to book TG (almost) all the way, but it's less convenient logistically (involves train from ZHR).

"Seek and you will find", or maybe "search, and you will find".

If you have valid connections, then you should be able to interline your luggage right the way through to GVA. When you check in at SGN, be clear about checking your luggage through and check the luggage tags carefully.

It's unlikely you'll get your BKK/LHR and LHR/GVA BPs at SGN (but you may), so be ready to collect them from the service desk at BKK. If your BKK/LHR/GVA is all on the one PNR, then you should be able to get both BPs at BKK.

You definitely do not want to check your luggage just to BKK, because then you'll need to clear immigration, pick up your backs, go upstairs and check back in. Stressful, time consuming and increases the risk of missing your flight.

Even better to avoid collecting your luggage at LHR. Chances are it will be lost at LHR anyway, so no point spending time looking for it. ;-)
