Interesting; in my experiences as a platinum, I am given my booked room type (albeit on a higher floor) but get free lounge access. Lounge access is really the only reason why I stay at this hotel. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is great (except for the tiny swimming pool) but there are even better ones in BKK IMO.
didn't get an upgrade, had to pay for lounge access as a|gold, only got drink voucher after chatting with staff who asked me if i had received all perks. will not stay again as the room wasn't suited for work, wireless on lounge floor was spotty in my room, no power outlets, no hangers in the bathroom.
